Macular Degeneration Foundation: A non-profit organization, founded by an AMD patient, was created to inform patients and support research.

Macular Degeneration International: A non-profit organization, MDI provides information on a variety of macular degenerations and is a support group for Foundation Fighting Blindness.

American Macular Degeneration Foundation: AMDP was founded by a patient with macular degeneration (not AMD) and provides information. They have a newsletter available for a $25 donation.

The Age Related Macular Degeneration Project: The Age-Related Macular Degeneration Project at UAB is research and public education with the goal of developing effective treatments for age-related macular degeneration (ARMD).

AMD Alliance International: If you are outside the United States, this organization is particularly helpful in directing you to resources in English, Spanish, German, French and Italian.

Center for the Study of Macular Degeneration: This website provides information on AMD from the research laboratories at the University of California, Santa Barbara

The Macula Foundation: A non-profit organization housed at the Manhattan Eye and Ear Hospital. Excellent graphical explanation of AMD.

Find a Retinal Specialist: The American Retina Foundation website allows you to search for retinal specialists by location or name.

MacDegen: The latest medical research for macular degeneration, explained by an AMD specialist in language you can understand. Sign up for the email newsletter.

Macular Disease Society (UK): The Macular Disease Society aims to build confidence and independence for those with central vision impairment. They provide information and practical support for visually impaired people, their families and carers.
